I made these amazing Sathumavu laddoos for my little girl recently. The recipe has as a variety of ingredients that are fabulous for various reasons; Weight gain, relieving constipation, boosting immunity and is also a nutrient-dense snack.<\/p>\n

Ingredients: <\/strong><\/p>\n

1 small cup Sathumavu powder<\/p>\n

1\/2 cup powdered oats<\/p>\n

1\/2 cup powdered Ragi<\/p>\n

1\/2 cup dry fruits powder ( I used almonds, cashew, walnuts, pistachios, a pinch of turmeric and a dash of saffron, dry roasted and powdered together)<\/p>\n

Dried figs (Anjeer)-5<\/em><\/p>\n

Prunes- 4<\/p>\n

1 cup Ghee<\/p>\n

Prep:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Soak the figs and prunes together for 15 minutes and make a paste of them and keep aside.<\/p>\n

Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a deep pan, add ghee and all the above ingredients one by one (except the paste), all the while stirring the dry mixture. Roast it on low flame. Once it has turned brown and starts leaving an aroma, add the figs and prunes paste and mix it well. You can add more ghee if it feels dry, but do not add water as the dough will become sticky.<\/p>\n

As a tip, go slow when adding the paste and keep stirring. The whole dough should have a whole wheat halwa consistency.<\/p>\n

Once cool, make bite-sized  ladoos. I highly recommend involving your little one in this last process of ladoos as its a great sensory play for them and its safe to mouth.<\/p>\n
