When I Grow Up, I Want to be a Child Again

by Amrita Saraf / Thursday, 16 July 2020 / Published in My reflections, Poetry

When I grow up,
I want to be a kid again.
I want to look at everything with wonder struck eyes
I want to be excited for everything I come across, old and new
I want to love unconditionally and be loved like that
I want to bring infinite joy in others’ lives just by being myself.

I want to be less judgmental and more forgiving.

I want to laugh on the silliest of things and make others laugh
I want to forget what I was crying for in five seconds.

I want to speak my mind without the fear of upsetting anyone
I want to stop holding grudges

I want to hurt less
Heal more

I want to meet new milestones every now and then
I want someone to cheer me on on my smallest of achievements

I want to see the world in colours
And not just in black and white.

I want to be gentle yet fierce
I want to be curious and fearless.

I want to experience this life afresh
When I grow up, I want to be a kid again
