Ragi Brownie recipe

by Amrita Saraf / Friday, 17 July 2020 / Published in Food and recipes

Ingredients:

1 cup Ragi flour

1/2-3/4 cup powdered jaggery

1/3 cup cocoa powder

A pinch of salt

1 tablespoon baking powder

Or

1/2 spoon baking soda and 1/2 spoon lemon juice

1/2 cup oil

3/4 cup milk

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Procedure:

Step 1: Mix ragi flour, salt, cocoa powder and sieve into a bowl, twice. Do not skip this step as it prevents lumps from being formed.

Step 2: Mix oil, milk and jaggery in a bigger bowl until it becomes consistent and jaggery is completely dissolved. Keep it aside.

Step 3: Grease your ramekin with ghee or butter

Step 4: Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients slowly and fold in the flour. Do it slowly and keep stirring.

Step 5: Transfer the mix to the ramekin

Step 6: Place it in a pre-heated oven and bake for 30 minutes at 180-200 degrees. Check with toothpick if it’s done otherwise bake for another few minutes.

Let it cool down, cut into brownies and serve your little one!

Disclaimer: This brownie is only suitable for toddlers and should not be given to babies below one. You can also add dry fruits powder if your toddler has been introduced to them before. I wouldn’t recommend adding chocolate chips but you can take out your portion and top it with some Nutella if you wish.

Note: This recipe was lovingly shared by VishnuPriya Chellasamy who has been baking for four years.
